Google's world...

By 2010, Google alerts are a great (free) way to find out when a new posting is made that features your business, competitors or search terms.

Google have also been spreading word in India with the launch of their Internet bus in February 2009. The bus is roaming the least accessible parts of India to demonstrate the Internet and how it can benefit people in many ways.

The cost of snow

Remember February's cold spell? An enterprising blogger used Twitter to try to calculate the cost of the snow to UK businesses.

Using Twitter as a social barometer, he analysed the frequency of "tweets" about days off.

He calculated the true cost to the economy as £690 million for each day of snowfall.
